Before you leave
Are you leaving Sorbonne University? Take the time to organise your departure so that you can leave with total peace of mind.
Notify your landlord and vacate your property in accordance with the terms of your lease. Cancel or transfer your contracts (energy, Internet, insurance, etc.), close your bank accounts if you’re leaving France and update your contact details so that you receive any refunds or administrative documents.
Notify the authorities of your departure (prefecture, social security, CAF, tax) to ensure you’ve completed all the required formalities and avoid any complications later on. Depending on your status, you should contact human resources, the academic department of your host institution or your research unit. They will tell you what contractual or administrative procedures you need to complete and provide you with the necessary certificates.
If you're planning to continue your mobility experience in France, check that your residence permit is valid, and verify the terms of your contract or enrolment to ensure you're well-prepared for this next phase.
Finally, stay in touch with the Sorbonne University community by joining the Sorbonne University Alumni network. You can share your experiences, develop your professional network and build on the connections made during your stay.
Being well-prepared will make your departure easier and open the door to new opportunities.
